NCAA Homies!!!

I gotta give a shoutout to my new homie GIA MCKNIGHT!!!!
So I hit up her game today against Cleveland State and she straight up massacred ol girl who i think was kinda nice if you do say so myself for reasons i think aint about her tennis game, ya digg. But then i knew she was good but damn this chick got some crazy ass potential in the NCAAs as a freshman...check this out...

High School
A two-time individual city champion... four-time team city champion... placed seventh at the state competition in 2005... improved to a fifth place finish at State her junior year... four year varsity letter winner... was a captain of her team... graduated fourth in her class. Ranked 58 nationally!

Thats nuts! and i was speaking to her dad on how her scholarship takes care of everything, makes me look at myself to make me a better student, you know...Keep doin you homie!

NEXT....

The homie Sean Cattouse!

Went to grammar school with this dude back at Newberry Academy and even then i knew he would make something of himself. I remember the time i accidently dropped something in the yellow bus n the way home and Sean and his brother Ethan sat behind me and Sean got hit with it...lol my bad homie...
So he went to Hubbard, played Basketball, Football and Track and Field(Ran against his ass too!) and then he became a stadnout as a defensive football star and signed to California...

Saw him play on TV last month in the bowl game against Miami....proud of you my dude...

Last but not least, cant forget my homie MIKE BOLDEN!
Known this guy for like four years and it seems like he been grinding it out ever since....his father actually played for Michigan so i wonder how he felt when Mike decided to go the other route and play wth Northwestern?

Anyway, Mike resently played in the Alamo Bowl and is going to be another talented student athlete which most will need to pay attention too when he goes pro in a couple of mo years...

CHECK OUT FOR PART TWO!!!

Kanye West X Louis Vuitton

Kanye West inspires me...real talk im not gonna sit up here and say everything he does is right, but the work that he puts in is genius. People are going to say im dickriding but to be real it aint what it is. Kanye came up hard and now doing alot of things that he once dreamt of or could never even imagine himself doing

Ryan Leslie inspires me too because no matter what you do, you have to put your heart into your music. It doesn't matter that you gotta look cool how you do it, if u jamming to the music you made, jam to it!! this man just proves to people that fuck what you think i created this and i'm loving it. He is bringing back great music that lots of people are going to enjoy and just puts so much heart and work into it...just amazing

Popular Culture these days

I'm watching the top hip hop best songs and its crazy how you see the
evolution of music is. From africka bambatta to Wu tang clan its just
amazing how the records just affect lives. The are anthems that had even
my dad say man that record was a hit! What? What yoi know about that?
But it makes you feel like what artists right now can give us those same
feelings? Kanye of course but like as much as people like to talk about
soulja boy I think he made a smash in music history with Crank That. Say
what you want, but Dre did his thing with that song and now has took
over the club scene with "Donk" and his new album gonna have ppl say
that shit wack but as soon as Gucci Bandana or Birdwalk come on, you
busting moves or gettin hyped.

I feel as if todays popular culture has helped lead the lives for
people. I mean you can't tell me that "Live Your Life" and "My life,
Your Entertainment" aint connecting with your life in someway or the
other.
TI made some hits with his album, Paper Trail, and I feel that's it was
his best album to date.
As far as record sales, I think the best album sales are the ones that
show the public that they put their all in the album. You how some
albums just have there 2 to 3 singles and the rest is just some bullshit
they had to put on cause the label was pushing them to release? Yea,
those ones have bad record sales.

Still Sweet

Artist: Aaron Reid
Interviewer: Jelani Whitehorne

Aaron Reid shows us how sweet life is after his Sweet Sixteen
Being the son of two talented music entrepreneurs is rare, and gaining some media shine because Kanye West rocked your birthday on MTV is even rarer. But that's life for Aaron Reid, the son of three time Grammy award winning music executive Antonio "L.A" Reid and then wife Perri "Pebbles" Reid, an R&B artist that helped create the award winning group TLC.

Aaron was featured on MTV's Sweet Sixteen a couple years back.. Now that the show is over, Aaron takes time out of his busy schedule to tell the SoundSlam how his life really is being, and why people should not assume anything.

SoundSlam: Aaron! What's up?

Aaron Reid: Nothing much but just doing this acting, man. I have a couple of projects I'm currently working on and just getting ready to move to Los Angeles.

SoundSlam: Since "My Sweet Sixteen," how has life changed for you?

Aaron Reid: Besides just becoming a lot more noticeable in the streets, life changed a lot because being famous comes with a lot. I had people stabbing me in the back, lots of haters, it was crazy. But with the negative, there were positives that helped me open up some more doors that will help me in the long run.

SoundSlam: That's great. Why did you choose Kanye West to do your party entertainment?

Aaron Reid: Kanye West is an amazing person. He is a genius, my favorite artist right now. He is a very smart artist, not just in music but he is like an art student, making beautiful art. Kanye West is an actual artist.

SoundSlam: Is it tough being the son of LA Reid?

Aaron Reid: Man it's crazy. Being the son of two music geniuses is harder than people think, but I can't complain. I thank God for everything and everyday because I have been truly blessed. I don't take advantage of anything, people assume that I do because my parents are who they are but I don't, they are very protective of me. I am a compassionate person, thus breaking the bratty stereotype that people seem to associate with me.

SoundSlam: That's very good, I'm glad you aren't. So with music business being in your family so close, do you have an artist that you can call a true friend?

Aaron Reid: Well I can say that I'm close with Canadian signer Keisha Chante, Baby Face, Usher is like family and Kanye West. I know them on more of a personal level. Some of these people have seen me grow from when I was still in diapers, so it's on a different level then just the music business part.

SoundSlam: Which artists do you think has the best personality behind the mic?

Aaron Reid: Jay-Z has got to be the coolest dude in the world; I really look up to him and how he handles himself. Mariah Carey is the sweetest lady as well. Whether it be Christmas, Valentine's Day, any one of my family member's birthday, she never forgets us and brings us something special from her heart.

SoundSlam: Wow, that's impressive. How big of a role do you play at your school being that you stand out a bit?

Aaron Reid: I say popularity is very overrated. People know me and that. I'm just a regular kid, just a class clown, always seeing messing things up. But I want people to also know that I want to be known for being a serious kid too, not just silly.

SoundSlam: Do you get treated differently from girls?

Aaron Reid: I really don't mess with girls. I mess with young women and older women because the way I handle myself. I'm a grown man by the things I do in life and how I handle certain aspects in life.

SoundSlam: On the show, My Super Sweet Sixteen, you stated that you just moved from Atlanta to New York, how was life for you there?

Aaron Reid: Atlanta is my home man, where I was born and raised. I actually could have lived in Los Angeles, but my parents didn't want me to live that life, they didn't want me to turn Hollywood and live a very humble life. My family is very close with Nicole Richie and we used to play twister and stuff when we were little and just seeing the things she has been put through are crazy.

SoundSlam: So tell me, what is a typical day being Aaron Reid?

Aaron Reid: I wakeup and get ready to go to school like any regular student. After school I come home and relax for a little while then I have some tutors come by the house and help with homework. After that, I have a meeting, which is like my separate life that people don't know about me. I'm at my dad's office running around doing errands and getting advice from my father. I'm also always out just trying to network, whether it is music or anything just to create a name for myself.

SoundSlam: With all that stuff going on, what do you do for fun?

Aaron Reid: I don't have free time (laughs). Well when I do have some downtime, I usually watch movies with some girls, go to and have some parties' with friends, and meet people to network with.

SoundSlam: If there was one thing that you wanted the public to know about you, what would it be?

Aaron Reid: Kids in my position are not what they seem. I want to be known for me, not my parents, I want my own name. Stop judging me and kids in my position so quick, we aren't all brats.

I know I shouldn't be typing this
I know I shouldn't feel like this
But it hurts
I can't express the feeling
I can't tell you why
I just hurt
I live a great life and love the person I am,
I just can't help the person I am,
I am always going to pursue my dreams and wat I want out of life,
But yet sometimes I can't get what I want out it,
When it comes to school or my personal life, it gets Rocky like the
movie
Times get hard I pull through, no one can ever do me,
I love hard and appreciate the time of what it was,
Guess its time to let go and let fate run its course
