Yeaa just more thoughts..my opinions tho

Why me?
Why does it come to the fact of males that treat women with respect and
dignity get fucked over?
Why is it that we don't appreciated?
Why is it that we get looked over?
Girls talk to much, all they say is shit that fills the world with hot
air,
I have a dream, matter of fact I'm gonna havea better reality,
Things just need to get in place,
Things just need to progress,
People need to stop lying, trying to save my feelings,
You can't take me down, never will, I stand still even when you don't
think
I've always made my self open to anyone I made friends with, I want to
be that different
I want to be the reason why they smile instead of crying,
I want to be the reason they wake up looking forward to the day instead
of dreading it
I want to be the reason they keep pushing instead of giving up
Why am I say I want to be?

I WILL be that dude

My thoughts at 12.17pm

This lecture is boring...I really want to get my music industry career
kicking and just get things movin....I hope to do those shows this year
as well and to book twista for this girls bday in may......girls only

their crap...I'm tired and need sleep...

I wish I could go to atlanta and support my homie aaron and network some
more...real talk I really do hope to be part of his team later down the
line because he Will be making big splashes with his options...I will be
succcessful and will continue to prove myself to everyone that I will
make my dreams come alive and my life be better than my nice dreams...I
have really wanted to start my own clothing line...I think I can really
thrive if I do that...showcase aka mr america is a funny dude. I
supported him and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and try to
tlk to him as a man but yet I guess he doesn't want to deal with me
which is cool. I don't wish anything but good fortune pon him
though.....brandon howard is the new homie, dude is doin some big
things...hope to work with him closer one day....I need sleep before I
fall asleep in class....I hope you enjoy parts of my blog...I pray that

RICK ROSS LISTENING PARTY....

Crazy. So as I stepped into the CRC (Chicago Recording Company) studio downtown, I saw a bunch of people going into the place. Showed my face and said my name once, and then a woman I previously saw at an event said "I remember you, go on in", I mean I was like damn, that's status. So I brought my homie, john with me to show how the music industry is at music listening events, well Chicago that is. Place was packed!!! They had Red Bulls, liquor and females serving. It gave me an idea of how I sort of wanted to do some events in the future. So as I see familiar names coming in, I hear a few Rick Ross tracks that I like. Interesting, I think. I'm not gonna lie, Rick Ross got bitched by 50 cent, but his music speaks for himself, its some real Boss music. So then the music stops as I am near the back of the place and I knew it was just about to get hectic. I moved to the other side of the studio to not get squished to the point where people were rushing for pictures. So he comes out, I take a picture and john takes a picture too, one of them first people he got to.
Ross made his way to the studio room and faster then you can say "CURTIS!!" it was hazed with smoke. I didn't go into the room cause I can't stand smoke, but it seemed he and his people enjoyed the songs. So as me and my boy john realized we were hungry, we went to see what they had and realized they had some pizza. But as we guessed it, it was already gone. As the event seemed like it was about to be over, I heard this track with Kanye in it. His line had this classic rap "when I hit the club, girls get extra hype. When you step to the club, girls get extra tight. We know who's not getting no sex tonight!!!" wow Good to feel Ye is back.

Overall I think his album will do numbers just cause of the beef he got going wit Fiddy. It was a good event but just needed more food and less rain cause it was a pain swimming from UIC to get downtown with all that rain.

Feel free to disagree or what not but I just feel there should be more of a stance because of the actions 50 put out on Ross. But as i said before, his music speaks for itself, and its pretty good too.

Big Sean (GOOD Music/Def Jam)

Whats up everybody??

Been kind of a crazy week but let me get thru this with you all......

So the big homie and one of my new favorite artists Big Sean came through the Chi this week and I was able to chop it up with him at the northside Leaders location. Real cool guy and just gotta support him cause his story is inspiring.

Inspiration

Right now I don't know what is going through me. All I know is that I am
getting focused for a better tommorrow. Each day I learn something new
and gain more of a sense of awareness about a certain subject. I have
only missed one class, I don't go to sleep at 1 am anymore, more like 3
am. I should study and work on my math and communication paper work more
but more on that ish later, right now I'm focused on some other things

The past couple days I have received emails from people asking exactly
how I do the things that I do in this music industry. The first thing I
tell them is that I do ME!!!! I have a goal and I look to acheive it.
Nothing of worth comes easy, so u have to work for it. Lots of things
that I have done were because I just aimed for it and it just came to be
or it wasn't what it was supposed to be.

Things happen for a reason is a big thing in my life. Certain things that
we may agree and or really disagree with happen to only make us better as
people. You have to learn from your mistakes and when you do you get a
better sense of yourself and how far you have become.

For example. In the summer of 2007, I wanted to rock fashion geek and
needed to find out exactly who to contact and whatnot cause I loved the
brand. Now in 2009, my closet full of that shit, some shirts I aint even
worn yet, some my friends wore before I did!(cough, nick!!!!). I aimed
for something and made it happen. No if ands or buts. Just do it!!

I wanted to be a journalist and now have more than just be that option.
I can be a vice president of a label, something else, promo head for a
streetwear brand. Chicago assistant to a music mogul...I mean my future
is bright!!! But it wasn't because I pondered and sat about it, I went
out and grabbed it!!!

You can take all the advice in the world but its up to u to do what you
will withwhat was told to you. Stop limiting yourselves to only being
this and being that. A communication degree doesn't have to only land
yoiu as a PR person!!!!! I love my PR ppls but if u have bigger dreams
never settle for less than what you expect of yourself.

Stop talking and do it. Think about what you want to do and let your
actions speak through. Stop using words like I wish, I want...say I
AM!! Those will limit yourself to something u DON'T wanna be....I want
to be great...dude I AM GREAT!!!

Keep your head high and respect others around you. You are never better
than anyone, no matter your tax bracket, grade, religion, age or
whatnot. Appreciate everyday that you got and who cares about you. Never
settle for being second for anyone, if they can't realize your gift then
you need to move out of their space.

Be cordial. If someone says hi, look them In the eye, smile and say hi
back. I cannot tell you how many times people do not do that and is very
angering! Why be cocky about someone is saying hello?

Lastly, smile every single day and get a laugh. Life is all about
having fun and enjoying the person you are. When people do that, others
enjoy you a lot more as a person too.

"Be About Change."
"Be Creative"
"Think Futch"

Most importantly be YOU. Not what society expects of you

NCAA Homies!!!

I gotta give a shoutout to my new homie GIA MCKNIGHT!!!!
So I hit up her game today against Cleveland State and she straight up massacred ol girl who i think was kinda nice if you do say so myself for reasons i think aint about her tennis game, ya digg. But then i knew she was good but damn this chick got some crazy ass potential in the NCAAs as a freshman...check this out...

High School
A two-time individual city champion... four-time team city champion... placed seventh at the state competition in 2005... improved to a fifth place finish at State her junior year... four year varsity letter winner... was a captain of her team... graduated fourth in her class. Ranked 58 nationally!

Thats nuts! and i was speaking to her dad on how her scholarship takes care of everything, makes me look at myself to make me a better student, you know...Keep doin you homie!

NEXT....

The homie Sean Cattouse!

Went to grammar school with this dude back at Newberry Academy and even then i knew he would make something of himself. I remember the time i accidently dropped something in the yellow bus n the way home and Sean and his brother Ethan sat behind me and Sean got hit with it...lol my bad homie...
So he went to Hubbard, played Basketball, Football and Track and Field(Ran against his ass too!) and then he became a stadnout as a defensive football star and signed to California...

Saw him play on TV last month in the bowl game against Miami....proud of you my dude...

Last but not least, cant forget my homie MIKE BOLDEN!
Known this guy for like four years and it seems like he been grinding it out ever since....his father actually played for Michigan so i wonder how he felt when Mike decided to go the other route and play wth Northwestern?

Anyway, Mike resently played in the Alamo Bowl and is going to be another talented student athlete which most will need to pay attention too when he goes pro in a couple of mo years...

Kanye West X Louis Vuitton

Kanye West inspires me...real talk im not gonna sit up here and say everything he does is right, but the work that he puts in is genius. People are going to say im dickriding but to be real it aint what it is. Kanye came up hard and now doing alot of things that he once dreamt of or could never even imagine himself doing

Ryan Leslie inspires me too because no matter what you do, you have to put your heart into your music. It doesn't matter that you gotta look cool how you do it, if u jamming to the music you made, jam to it!! this man just proves to people that fuck what you think i created this and i'm loving it. He is bringing back great music that lots of people are going to enjoy and just puts so much heart and work into it...just amazing

Popular Culture these days

I'm watching the top hip hop best songs and its crazy how you see the
evolution of music is. From africka bambatta to Wu tang clan its just
amazing how the records just affect lives. The are anthems that had even
my dad say man that record was a hit! What? What yoi know about that?
But it makes you feel like what artists right now can give us those same
feelings? Kanye of course but like as much as people like to talk about
soulja boy I think he made a smash in music history with Crank That. Say
what you want, but Dre did his thing with that song and now has took
over the club scene with "Donk" and his new album gonna have ppl say
that shit wack but as soon as Gucci Bandana or Birdwalk come on, you
busting moves or gettin hyped.

I feel as if todays popular culture has helped lead the lives for
people. I mean you can't tell me that "Live Your Life" and "My life,
Your Entertainment" aint connecting with your life in someway or the
other.
TI made some hits with his album, Paper Trail, and I feel that's it was
his best album to date.
As far as record sales, I think the best album sales are the ones that
show the public that they put their all in the album. You how some
albums just have there 2 to 3 singles and the rest is just some bullshit
they had to put on cause the label was pushing them to release? Yea,
those ones have bad record sales.

Aaron Ried interivew By Jelani Whitehorne

Still Sweet

Artist: Aaron Reid
Interviewer: Jelani Whitehorne

Aaron Reid shows us how sweet life is after his Sweet Sixteen
Being the son of two talented music entrepreneurs is rare, and gaining some media shine because Kanye West rocked your birthday on MTV is even rarer. But that's life for Aaron Reid, the son of three time Grammy award winning music executive Antonio "L.A" Reid and then wife Perri "Pebbles" Reid, an R&B artist that helped create the award winning group TLC.

Aaron was featured on MTV's Sweet Sixteen a couple years back.. Now that the show is over, Aaron takes time out of his busy schedule to tell the SoundSlam how his life really is being, and why people should not assume anything.

SoundSlam: Aaron! What's up?

Aaron Reid: Nothing much but just doing this acting, man. I have a couple of projects I'm currently working on and just getting ready to move to Los Angeles.

SoundSlam: Since "My Sweet Sixteen," how has life changed for you?

Aaron Reid: Besides just becoming a lot more noticeable in the streets, life changed a lot because being famous comes with a lot. I had people stabbing me in the back, lots of haters, it was crazy. But with the negative, there were positives that helped me open up some more doors that will help me in the long run.

SoundSlam: That's great. Why did you choose Kanye West to do your party entertainment?

Aaron Reid: Kanye West is an amazing person. He is a genius, my favorite artist right now. He is a very smart artist, not just in music but he is like an art student, making beautiful art. Kanye West is an actual artist.

SoundSlam: Is it tough being the son of LA Reid?

Aaron Reid: Man it's crazy. Being the son of two music geniuses is harder than people think, but I can't complain. I thank God for everything and everyday because I have been truly blessed. I don't take advantage of anything, people assume that I do because my parents are who they are but I don't, they are very protective of me. I am a compassionate person, thus breaking the bratty stereotype that people seem to associate with me.

SoundSlam: That's very good, I'm glad you aren't. So with music business being in your family so close, do you have an artist that you can call a true friend?

Aaron Reid: Well I can say that I'm close with Canadian signer Keisha Chante, Baby Face, Usher is like family and Kanye West. I know them on more of a personal level. Some of these people have seen me grow from when I was still in diapers, so it's on a different level then just the music business part.

SoundSlam: Which artists do you think has the best personality behind the mic?

Aaron Reid: Jay-Z has got to be the coolest dude in the world; I really look up to him and how he handles himself. Mariah Carey is the sweetest lady as well. Whether it be Christmas, Valentine's Day, any one of my family member's birthday, she never forgets us and brings us something special from her heart.

SoundSlam: Wow, that's impressive. How big of a role do you play at your school being that you stand out a bit?

Aaron Reid: I say popularity is very overrated. People know me and that. I'm just a regular kid, just a class clown, always seeing messing things up. But I want people to also know that I want to be known for being a serious kid too, not just silly.

SoundSlam: Do you get treated differently from girls?

Aaron Reid: I really don't mess with girls. I mess with young women and older women because the way I handle myself. I'm a grown man by the things I do in life and how I handle certain aspects in life.

SoundSlam: On the show, My Super Sweet Sixteen, you stated that you just moved from Atlanta to New York, how was life for you there?

Aaron Reid: Atlanta is my home man, where I was born and raised. I actually could have lived in Los Angeles, but my parents didn't want me to live that life, they didn't want me to turn Hollywood and live a very humble life. My family is very close with Nicole Richie and we used to play twister and stuff when we were little and just seeing the things she has been put through are crazy.

SoundSlam: So tell me, what is a typical day being Aaron Reid?

Aaron Reid: I wakeup and get ready to go to school like any regular student. After school I come home and relax for a little while then I have some tutors come by the house and help with homework. After that, I have a meeting, which is like my separate life that people don't know about me. I'm at my dad's office running around doing errands and getting advice from my father. I'm also always out just trying to network, whether it is music or anything just to create a name for myself.

SoundSlam: With all that stuff going on, what do you do for fun?

Aaron Reid: I don't have free time (laughs). Well when I do have some downtime, I usually watch movies with some girls, go to and have some parties' with friends, and meet people to network with.

SoundSlam: If there was one thing that you wanted the public to know about you, what would it be?

Aaron Reid: Kids in my position are not what they seem. I want to be known for me, not my parents, I want my own name. Stop judging me and kids in my position so quick, we aren't all brats.

I know I shouldn't be typing this
I know I shouldn't feel like this
But it hurts
I can't express the feeling
I can't tell you why
I just hurt
I live a great life and love the person I am,
I just can't help the person I am,
I am always going to pursue my dreams and wat I want out of life,
But yet sometimes I can't get what I want out it,
When it comes to school or my personal life, it gets Rocky like the
movie
Times get hard I pull through, no one can ever do me,
I love hard and appreciate the time of what it was,
Guess its time to let go and let fate run its course
